August Saturday 01
Vassiliki village: Cretan Feast with Psarantonis, Psarogiorgis, Vrentzos. Starting at 9.30pm.
1st Elementary School in Ierapetra: “Frixos Theodossakis”. Dr. Giannis Pirgiotakis, Professor and ex Chancellor of University of Crete and Dr. Tilemachos Moudatsakis, Professor of University of Crete will talk about Frixos Theodossakis, the scientist, the artist and the man. The Mayor of Ierapetra will inaugurate Frixos Theodosakis’ Painting Exhibition, which will be open till the 5th of August. Starting at 9.30pm. Free Entrance.
Kavoussi village – Elementary School: During the Eleantheia Festival, the theatrical play “The Threepenny Opera” by Berthold Brecht will be presented by the Theatrical Team of Ierapetra. Directed by Antonis Diamantis. Starting at 9.30pm. Free Entrance.

Ierapetra – 1st Elementary School: A Music Trip to Lilipoupoli ( Lilliputian Town). Choreography by Niki Papadaki. Starting at 9.00pm.
Ferma village – Elementary School The Theatrical Scene of Heraklion presents I. Kondylakis’ play “ Patouchas”. Starting at 9.00pm. Entrance 5 €.
Myrtos village: “Rebetiko music and the fish”. A fish feast, organized by Manolis Dimitrianakis and local rebetika bands. The Myrtos Nautical Club organizes a rebetiko music feast and fish eating night. Starting at 9.30pm.
Pachia Ammos, Ierapetra: Blood donation at Pachia Ammos – at the offices of the local Club.
Open air chess board. Fast chess contests (blits) and simultane will be taking place, starting at 10am. Entrance and participation are free.
August Monday 03
Ierapetra – 1st Elementary School: Tribute to Apostolos Hadjichristos. Fifty years after the death of Apostolos Hadjichristos, the composer of rebetika songs, bouzouki player and singer who wrote some of the most known songs in Greek music scene ( Aliti me eipes mia vradia, Kaiksis, Paraponiariko, I amaksa mes sti vrohi etc), but died completely unknown. . Starting at 9.30pm. Free Entrance

Ierapetra – 1st Elementary School: The Theatrical Group of Ierapetra town presents Aristophanes’ comedy “Ploutos”. Directed by Eleana Karandeinou. Starting at 9.30pm. Ticket Fee: 10€, children 5 €.

Ierapetra – 1st Elementary School: An evening with songs from Minor Asia, by the choir of Minor Asians of Ierapetra. During the events, the local violist Vaggelis Vardakis will be honored for his contribution to the preservation of the musical tradition. Starting at 9.30pm. Free entrance
Ierapetra – Beach Square: Inauguration of the book fair with the participation of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Ierapetra. The fair will be open until Sunday 9/08. Open daily from 8pm -11pm.

Ierapetra – 1st Elementary School: Coronet Theatre continues for the third year now, with the most successful play in Athens, Broadway’s play “Caveman”. The Man of the caves, the most long lasting solo play in the world. Direction – Adaptation: Anastasia Papastathi. Actor: Dimitris Sakatzis. Starting at 9.30pm.
Pachia Ammos Harbor: Cretan evening with Vaggelis’ Pitharoulis band. Starting at 9.30pm.
Ierapetra – 1st Elementary School: Exhibition of painting, pottery and jewelry by Bruno, Maria Domazaki, Dimitri Vasioula, Sophia Mastoraki, Filia Lagkazali, Giannis Rizos, Irene Ksidianou, Myrto Kanoupaki, Rea Kaligianni, Kiki Vagionaki, Sylvia Gianofski. Messeleroi village: International festival of choirs OLERIA. Directed by Maria Papagiannaki. Choirs from Crete and abroad, presentation of dancing program with live music. The audience and artists will be received by the club and residents of Messeleroi. Starting at 9pm. Free Entrance
Myrtos village: Cretan Feast with Nikos Goniakakis’ Band. Starting at 9.30pm.

Panagia village – Cultural Centre: Photography exhibition by Theocharis Provatakis and Painting Exhibition by Andreas Margetakis and Maria Papadopetraki. Free Entrance. The exhibitions will be open till the end of September.
Myrtos village – Church of Saint Antonios: International Festival of choirs “OLERIA”. The choirs meet at Myrtos. Starting at 8pm. . Free Entrance.

Ierapetra – 1st Elementary School: His name is Sitos – Sitarakis (Wheat), he is just eight centimeters tall and was born in a loaf of bread. He has a brother, an unbelievable donkey, very snob, called Louis. They will go on a trip around the world to prove to everyone that it’s not about height but about brains. Ierapetra: a visit to the archaelogical site of Zakros. Departure from the Municipality Building at 8am.
Ierapetra: End of Kyrveia events. This year the town criers will cry the end of Kyrveia at 5pm at Anatoli School and then we will all gather to the Ierapetra Mosque to celebrate the end along with the Philharmonic Orchestra and local artists. Program: 5pm Anatoli vllage, 9pm Mosque Square of Ierapetra. Free entrance.
