Greece’s Advertising Promotion wins 1st Place at Chinese International Tourism Exhibition
The advertising promotion of Greece won first place at the largest Chinese international tourism exhibition, held in the city of Kunming from 24 to 27 November, with the participation of 98 countries from all over the world.
Greece took part in the exhibition with an impressive Greek Tourism stand while the country’s new advertising campaign unfolded in both Beijing and Shanghai. According to the organisers, “the integrated aesthetics of Greece’s advertising campaign together with its apposite message, leading up to and during the 7th International Tourism Exhibition “Travel Mart 2005”, contributed to the country’s first place ranking by the Chinese public, media and other co-exhibitors, as regards overall tourism promotion of a foreign country in China.”
It should be noted that, during the visit to Kunming of Minister of Tourism Development Mr Dimitris Avramopoulos and GNTO President Mr Aristeides Kalogeropoulos-Stratis, the Greek presence was announced the best at Travel Mart 2005 by the organisers and the Chinese Minister of Tourism.
During his meeting with Mr Avramopoulos, the Chinese Minister of Tourism, Mr Shao Qiwei, had declared himself impressed by the Greek stand and announced that every year until the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Greece will be the country of honour at the great exhibition in Beijing, held every June.
